Research Day

The VA hosts an event each year called ‘Research Day’. This day is dedicated to the achievements of VA researchers and the role they play in providing high quality care for Veterans and advancing medical science.

Previous year’s event included speakers such as Dr. Wade Martin, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. William Powderly, who gave a compelling speech about the history and future of Infectious Diseases. Dr. Mohamed Zayed, who spoke about Diabetes and was recognized as Next Generation Investigator, and Kartik Mani who was also recognized as a Next Generation Investigator.

Banquet Dinner

For the first time, in 2019, the VREF staff decided to hold a dinner the night before Research Day to bring together all of Research Staff and celebrate all we have accomplished and will continue to do in the future. Our event was held on Thursday, April 18th, at Wild Flower Restaurant and Catering in the Central West End.
